Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all users of the Electronic Health Record and ancillary clinical systems across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Configure and optimize clinical content in partnership with medical staff to reflect best practices
• Develop and deliver training materials and sessions using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, web conferencing, and live video
• Triage user issues and escalate to subject matter experts as needed (Help Desk, PC Technicians, Network Administrators, Coders, Medical Directors, Nurses)
• Maintain and update application content including lab/radiology tests, medications, immunizations, and coding changes
• Continuously assess clinical decision support and clinical content, recommending and implementing improvements
• Evaluate and align clinical processes across SEARHC clinics to improve patient care and workflows
• Collaborate closely with IT staff, vendors, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure system stability and usability

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Alaska or other U.S. state required); direct hires must have applied for Alaska license before start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 5 years work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reporting, or hardware)
• Teaching or instructional experience preferred
• Inpatient clinical experience preferred
• Experience with hospital and clinic accreditation processes or HL7 messaging is a plus
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) may substitute for minimum experience on a year-by-year basis

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred
• Advanced degree(s) may substitute for required experience on a year-by-year basis

Knowledge & Skills

• EHR configuration and clinical content optimization
• Clinical decision support assessment and implementation
• Familiarity with scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• HL7 messaging knowledge (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to triage technical/clinical problems and collaborate with IT and clinical teams
• Comfort working across multiple sites and adapting to variable travel modes
