Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, age-appropriate direct personal care including assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
• Take and record vital signs, measure output, and report abnormal findings promptly
• Observe, document and accurately report changes in patient condition to the care team
• Assist with restorative care and use of assistive devices, including range-of-motion activities
• Follow infection control and universal precautions to keep patients and team members safe
• Support patient rights, dignity and independence while delivering compassionate care
• Work collaboratively with the treatment team to implement care plans and interventions
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and observations

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or state-equivalent certification required
• Minimum six (6) months experience in a long-term care (LTC) health facility
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers — must be obtained within six (6) months of employment
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand simple sentences in English; follow oral and written instructions precisely
• Strong observation and documentation skills with attention to detail
• Patient, tactful, and able to remain emotionally stable under pressure
• Previous work experience in Hawaii is a plus (preferred, not required)

Education

• CNA certification (state-approved)
• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Personal hygiene and bodily care

• Use and application of assistive devices
• Range of motion activities and restorative care techniques
• Infection control and universal precautions
• Basic nursing terminology and first aid
• Good oral and written communication
