Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients under the direction of the Physical Therapist, delivering compassionate, effective care
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with the PT Board and facility policy
• Follow physician treatment plans and communicate patient progress, problems, and plans with the care team
• Assist with department maintenance and keep treatment areas clean and safe
• Train and assist restorative aides and provide caregiver training in preparation for patient discharge
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences as needed
• Report equipment issues promptly to ensure safe, working treatment tools
• Support and participate in in-service training programs for facility staff

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in good standing with the state board (required)
• Proficient computer skills with experience inputting data into systems such as Casamba and PointClickCare
• Ability to meet continuing education requirements per state practices
• Strong communication skills and the ability to relate positively with patients, families, staff and colleagues
• Comfortable assisting with training restorative aides and providing caregiver education

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (state PTA license required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and hands-on therapeutic techniques
• Accurate treatment documentation and progress note completion
• Familiarity with Casamba and PointClickCare charting systems
• Understanding of physician-directed treatment plans and rehabilitation goals
• Equipment maintenance and safe treatment area upkeep
• Patient/family education and caregiver training techniques
• Collaborative communication with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
