Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living—bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding and transfers—with compassion and respect
• Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests to ensure timely care
• Obtain and record vital signs, weights and other observations accurately
• Report any changes in resident condition to the nurse promptly to support timely clinical decisions
• Maintain thorough, timely documentation to support resident care plans and regulatory needs
• Report any allegations or signs of abuse, neglect or misappropriation immediately to the charge nurse
• Contribute to a safe, comfortable environment by following facility policies and resident safety practices
• Perform other duties as requested to support the team and resident well-being

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• 1+ years of related CNA or long-term care experience preferred
• Ability to reliably perform resident transfers and assist with ADLs
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to recognize and report changes in resident condition and concerns about abuse/neglect

Education

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident care best practices in long-term care settings
• Skilled at taking and recording vital signs and weights
• Proficient in assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Clear, timely reporting of resident condition to nursing staff
• Knowledge of resident safety protocols and infection control
• Competence in accurate documentation and charting
• Strong interpersonal skills and a resident-centered approach
