Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nurse in charge
• Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts to keep residents safe
• Follow individualized care plans and document care accurately and promptly
• Communicate respectfully and clearly with residents, families, and team members
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• Active state certification or licensure as required by Maryland regulations
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable working with older adults and experienced with geriatric care
• Background check and health screenings (TB, immunizations) completed as required by facility
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and good communication

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited GNA/CNA program

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and age-related needs
• Infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Ability to assist with transfers and use proper body mechanics
• Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
