Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating day shifts (primarily 12-hour). Shift time options: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, or 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Mostly self-scheduled with typical weekend coverage (Friday-Sunday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM). Weeknight on-call rotation: 3-4 shifts per 6 weeks. Holiday coverage required. Day shift / rotating schedule, 2-hour call response time.

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile field and surgical instrumentation to support efficient, safe procedures
• Assist surgeons and the OR team during a range of cases including orthopedics, robotics, neuro/spine, plastics, ENT, and urology
• Operate and troubleshoot robotic surgical systems and advanced OR technology with confidence
• Respond rapidly and effectively to Level 1 trauma activations and high-acuity cases
• Document perioperative care accurately in EPIC and support smooth charting workflows
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training to maintain top-tier clinical competency
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and the multidisciplinary team to optimize patient flow and safety
• Adhere to hospital infection control, dress code, and departmental policies at all times

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA required
• BLS (AHA) required
• CO DORA registration/certification required for Colorado practice
• Experience (preferred): 2 years OR experience; demonstrated experience with robotics and trauma is a must-have
• Comfort working 12-hour shifts and participating in on-call rotations
• Valid driver's license and ability to submit DL; must be within a 60-mile radius for assignment
• Ability to complete credentialing, background checks, and facility interview process
• Proven ability to chart in EPIC or similar electronic health records

Education

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and surgical instrumentation knowledge
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery platforms
• Trauma workflow and fast-paced OR triage skills
• EPIC charting and perioperative documentation
• Case-specific skills: orthopedics/trauma, neuro/spine, plastics, ENT, urology
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and situational awareness in high-acuity environments
• Ability to self-schedule and adapt to variable OR case volumes
