Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and support to older adults, treating each resident with dignity
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding) in a respectful way
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Document care provided and any notable observations accurately and timely
• Help create a warm, social environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
• Follow infection control practices and facility safety protocols consistently

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Prior experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations is a plus
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
• Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident-centered care
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
• Knowledge of infection control and safe transfer techniques
• Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in resident health or behavior
• Teamwork and clear communication with nurses, therapists, and family members
