Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory and telemetry nursing care on the Respiratory/Stepdown unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and act quickly on significant changes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR
• Float to various Med-Surg areas as needed, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED/Med-Surg boarders
• Maintain required certifications and participate in unit competency checks
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team to deliver patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Telemetry and/or Stepdown experience; must be able to read telemetry (competency tested on day one)
• Current Epic EMR proficiency is required; refresher classes or 1:1 training are not an option
• Comfortable working nights and covering every other weekend as scheduled

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Respiratory care and management of COVID and other respiratory patients
• Stepdown patient assessment and critical thinking
• Proficient Epic EMR documentation and workflows
• BLS and basic emergency response skills
• Flexibility to float across Med-Surg specialties
