Registered Nurse - Hematology/Oncology
Location: Columbus, OH
Start Date: 04-20-2026
End Date: 08-10-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day and Night). Typical night block: Night 3x12 — 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (may include days or mixed D/N depending on departmental needs). Orientation: Week 1 Mon-Fri dayshift; Week 2 on-unit orientation with preceptor (36 hours). Scheduling reviewed every 4-week period; weekend coverage is variable.

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry continuously to identify dysrhythmias and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer IV therapy, start IVs and perform phlebotomy with skill and attention to patient comfort
- Safely manage and care for central lines and PICCs, including central line blood draws
- Prepare for and administer blood products according to protocol and monitor patients closely
- Follow and champion infection prevention protocols to keep immunocompromised oncology patients safe
- Provide feeding tube care and management when needed to support patient nutrition
- Participate in Rapid Response Team activations and support emergency response for cardiac events
- Document timely and accurately in EPIC and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (must meet requirements within the 3 most recent years)
- At least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass (oncology experience preferred; training provided)
- BLS required and ACLS required
- ONS Chemo Certification preferred
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers will be screened with the client prior to assignment
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- IV therapy, IV starts, phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management
- Blood product administration and related monitoring
- Central line and PICC line care and management, including central line draws
- Epic electronic charting and computerized documentation
- Infection prevention best practices and patient falls prevention strategies
- Feeding tube care and general med-surg oncology nursing
- Familiarity with B450 monitors (GE telemetry), Alaris pumps and Stryker beds
