Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights). Night example: 3x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Orientation: first week Monday-Friday dayshift; second week includes 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; weekends variable based on unit needs.

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses
• Safely prepare and administer chemotherapy, monitor patients closely, and respond to adverse reactions
• Participate in clinical trials and assist with accurate data collection and documentation
• Perform specialized procedures including brachytherapy and neobladder care with attention to safety
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and intervene appropriately to manage cardiac events
• Maintain IV and central line care, manage blood product administration, and support feeding tube needs
• Implement and uphold infection prevention protocols and strategies to reduce patient falls
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using EPIC and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry nursing experience (must meet within the last 3 years)
• At least 1 year of current specialty experience required for clinical pass
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology procedures such as brachytherapy preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; willingness to learn and grow your nursing practice
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) — active license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing fundamentals
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• EPIC computerized charting proficiency
• IV therapy, central line maintenance, and blood product administration
• Feeding tube care and tracheostomy management
• Infection prevention best practices and patient falls management
• Familiarity with PCA pumps, epidurals, NG tubes, and other special equipment
