Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic exams accurately and with care
• Transport patients safely to and from the radiographic room
• Prepare and maintain the radiographic room and equipment for each exam
• Evaluate and document images and exam details clearly and professionally
• Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed and equipment is properly used
• Communicate effectively with patients and the care team to deliver compassionate service
• Maintain required certifications, licensure, and documentation promptly

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of AMA‑approved X‑ray training school
• Current registry in Radiography through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Must hold and maintain a current Rhode Island radiographer license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Proficiency in English for clear communication with patients and staff
• Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, evenings, and weekends
• Must meet required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, TB testing, influenza, fit test, varicella, Tdap, etc.)

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of AMA-approved X-Ray training school

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic radiography techniques and image acquisition
• Patient transport and safe handling practices
• Radiographic room preparation and maintenance
• Image evaluation and accurate documentation
• Radiation safety principles and compliance
• Familiarity with ARRT standards and Rhode Island licensure requirements
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
