Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders with clinically sound methods
• Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans that advance patient goals
• Deliver evidence-based therapy sessions and adjust interventions as patients progress
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and allied professionals to coordinate holistic patient care
• Document assessments, progress and discharge plans clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families to empower them with strategies they can use every day
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment

Qualifications

• Current California SLP license or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience evaluating and treating a range of inpatient and outpatient caseloads preferred
• Strong clinical documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Current BLS/CPR certification as required by facility (if applicable)

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluation and treatment of dysphagia and communication disorders
• Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies
• Solid understanding of evidence-based practice and outcome-driven care
• Proficient clinical documentation and time management
• Comfortable coaching caregivers and family members
• Ability to adapt therapy for diverse ages and diagnoses
