Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on your assigned shifts, focusing on maternal and newborn needs
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart tracings and intervene or escalate based on AWHONN standards
- Perform neonatal resuscitation and urgent interventions per NRP protocols when needed
- Administer and document nursing treatments, medications, and assessments with accuracy and attention to detail
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute safe care plans
- Participate in required competency testing and maintain unit-specific skills checklists
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state verification required)
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NRP certification
- AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring certification
- Completion of Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings as required (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, COVID-19, influenza, 2-step PPD or IGRA, varicella, fit test)
- Successful background and 10-panel drug screen
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong maternal/newborn assessment skills and familiarity with fetal heart monitoring
- Proficient in neonatal resuscitation and urgent obstetric interventions
- Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to escalate concerns appropriately
- Clear documentation practices and attention to regulatory/licensure requirements
- Teamwork, communication, and the ability to teach and support patients and families
