Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities—bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility—with dignity and compassion
• Monitor and document patient status and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support safe patient transfers and positioning, using proper body mechanics and safety protocols
• Follow infection control and facility procedures to maintain a safe care environment
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent, patient-centered care
• Respond to patient call lights and urgent needs with professionalism and empathy
• Participate in orientation and training to uphold facility standards and improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (California) — must be in good standing
• Reliable attendance and ability to commit to the scheduled nights (no time off during assignment preferred)
• Availability for the required 2-week training block (Thursday–Monday, 9:45 PM–6:15 AM)
• Comfort working in a correctional healthcare environment (facility: California State Prison, Corcoran)
• Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on patient care and basic clinical skills (vital signs, ADLs, toileting assistance)
• Effective documentation and charting practices
• Infection prevention and safety awareness
• Ability to follow care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
