Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust respiratory care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
- Deliver respiratory treatments and interventions as ordered by physicians while maintaining clear communication with nursing and medical staff
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education about respiratory conditions, procedures, and discharge instructions
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care for a diverse patient population
- Share clinical knowledge with staff and students and serve as a role model for best practices
- Accept reassignment to other units when needed to support patient care and unit needs
Qualifications
- Credentialed as RRT or CRT (RRT preferred)
- Current Illinois state respiratory therapist license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- NRP-MHC certification as listed by the client
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field (required)
Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related health field required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong respiratory care skills including assessment, treatment planning, and evaluation
- Effective patient education and the ability to explain complex conditions in plain language
- Excellent interdisciplinary communication and teamwork with nursing and medical staff
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
- Clinical teaching aptitude to mentor students and junior staff
