Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care during overnight shifts for patients at Bear Canyon Rehab Center
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in condition clearly and promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update individualized care plans
• Support patient transitions, discharge planning, and family education with clarity and empathy
• Respond to urgent situations calmly and implement interventions within scope of practice
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and assist with quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — ability to practice in New Mexico required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS) a plus
• Comfortable with overnight (night) clinical responsibilities in a rehab/long-term care setting
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset
• Previous experience in rehab, med-surg, or long-term care preferred but enthusiastic new grads with solid clinical skills are welcome

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and monitoring during overnight care
• Medication administration and IV therapy fundamentals
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced night shift environment
• Clear verbal and written communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Basic wound care, mobility assistance, and rehabilitation support
