Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Assist with patient assessments and document progress clearly and timely
• Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of the PT
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and rehab staff to ensure coordinated care
• Monitor and report changes in patient status and participate in care planning
• Maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and ensure a clean treatment environment

Qualifications

• Class: PTA / Experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Active or eligible to obtain a Maryland PTA license (state licensure required for practice)
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Clinical experience in outpatient or rehab settings preferred
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work all scheduled days as listed and manage a varied caseload

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or diploma)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise, gait training, and mobility techniques
• Skilled in patient assessment, treatment documentation, and goal setting
• Comfortable with assistive devices and adaptive equipment
• Able to follow care plans and adapt interventions based on patient response
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and clinical teams
• Familiarity with rehab modalities, safety protocols, and infection control
