Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
- Provide compassionate, expert nursing care for both ER patients and swing bed residents
- Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient responses with precision
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop and execute care plans
- Perform thorough documentation and handoffs to maintain continuity and safety
- Support patient and family education, providing clear guidance and reassurance
- Respond to acute changes in condition and escalate appropriately to ensure best outcomes
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license (Colorado license or RN compact privileges preferred)
- Recent experience in Emergency Room care and swing bed/post-acute nursing
- Comfort and experience working 12-hour night shifts
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in emergency assessment, rapid decision-making, and prioritized interventions
- Knowledge of post-acute/swing bed care, discharge planning, and rehabilitation needs
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
- Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients while maintaining safety and compassion
- Works well under pressure and adapts to changing patient needs
