Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving care
• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care for both ER patients and swing bed residents
• Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient responses with precision
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to develop and execute care plans
• Perform thorough documentation and handoffs to maintain continuity and safety
• Support patient and family education, providing clear guidance and reassurance
• Respond to acute changes in condition and escalate appropriately to ensure best outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (Colorado license or RN compact privileges preferred)
• Recent experience in Emergency Room care and swing bed/post-acute nursing
• Comfort and experience working 12-hour night shifts
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in emergency assessment, rapid decision-making, and prioritized interventions
• Knowledge of post-acute/swing bed care, discharge planning, and rehabilitation needs
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients while maintaining safety and compassion
• Works well under pressure and adapts to changing patient needs
