Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating day shifts including weekends and holiday/on-call rotation; typical options include 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour), 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM (10-hour), or 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM / 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM (12-hour) shift patterns. Schedule is rotating and may include occasional weekend coverage and on-call duties.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures and advanced imaging techniques to produce diagnostic-quality images for physician interpretation
• Prepare and position patients safely and compassionately, explaining procedures to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation
• Select appropriate pulse sequences, operate MRI systems and coils, and optimize acquisition parameters to meet protocol needs
• Administer and manage IV contrast when indicated, including venipuncture and maintaining venous access
• Apply MRI safety practices and screening to protect patients, staff and equipment
• Evaluate images for technical quality and manipulate/reconstruct digital data for accurate physician review
• Use PACS and radiology information systems to archive, submit studies and complete required documentation
• Support interventional procedures as needed and initiate basic life support in emergencies

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program
• ARRT Radiography registration required
• ARRT MRI registration required
• Approved CPR or BLS certification required
• Experience working as an MRI Technologist (previous clinical MRI experience preferred)
• Demonstrated skill in venipuncture and contrast administration
• Comfortable working rotating shifts, weekends and participating in on-call/holiday rotations

Education

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MRI technical knowledge including pulse sequence selection and image acquisition
• Familiarity with MRI safety principles and patient screening procedures
• Proficiency with PACS and Radiology Information Systems
• Competence in patient positioning and immobilization for high-quality imaging
• Skills in image manipulation and reconstruction for diagnostic use
• Aseptic technique and universal precautions awareness
• Excellent patient communication and the ability to provide calm, clear instructions
• Basic Life Support (BLS) readiness and emergency response capability
