Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care in the Medical-Surgical unit, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs and observations to the nursing team
- Support safe patient transfers, ambulation, and mobility under established protocols
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with basic charting tasks
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
- Uphold infection control standards and ensure a clean, safe environment for patients
- Offer emotional support and respectful communication to patients and their families
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (required) — Montana certification preferred or eligible to obtain
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (preferred)
- Experience in a Medical-Surgical (M/S) setting is a plus
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completed CNA training program and current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of basic patient care and ADLs
- Familiarity with vital sign monitoring and routine charting
- Understanding of infection control practices and patient safety protocols
- Comfortable with patient transfers and use of mobility aids
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Good interpersonal skills and a compassionate bedside manner
