Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to long term care residents with dignity and respect
• Assess resident conditions, monitor changes, and document care accurately and promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with facility policies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Respond effectively to clinical emergencies and escalate when appropriate
• Educate residents and families on care plans, medications, and prevention strategies
• Support continuity of care through thorough handoffs and clear communication

Qualifications

• Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required
• Experience in long term care or a similar clinical setting preferred
• Comfort working 12-hour day shifts and adapting to a close-knit, remote community environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active RN license in Alaska (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
• Knowledge of long term care best practices and regulatory requirements
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and team members
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during busy 12-hour shifts
• Basic familiarity with electronic health record documentation and charting
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to a small-town Alaskan healthcare setting
