Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care to pediatric patients with attention to safety and comfort
• Perform respiratory assessments and deliver appropriate therapies, including aerosol treatments and oxygen management
• Operate and manage ventilators and other respiratory support devices as needed
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and the care team to coordinate comprehensive patient care
• Document patient status, treatments, and responses accurately in the medical record
• Participate in orientation and training activities to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in Ohio or able to obtain state licensure
• CRT or RRT credential preferred
• Current BLS certification required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort and experience working with pediatric patients, or strong desire to specialize in pediatrics
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field required
• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or healthcare field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of pediatric respiratory care and age-appropriate treatments
• Experience with ventilator management and airway support
• Proficiency with respiratory equipment, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Ability to accurately document care in electronic medical records
• Sound clinical judgment and the ability to respond calmly in emergent situations
• Compassionate patient- and family-centered care approach
