Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) to maintain dignity and comfort
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and lifting techniques
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team promptly
• Provide compassionate bedside care, promoting a calm and reassuring environment
• Document care accurately and timely in resident records and communicate observations to nurses
• Help with meals and feeding assistance while encouraging resident independence
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in good standing (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification (preferred or obtained upon hire)
• Ability to pass facility background check and health screenings
• Comfort working 12+ hour night shifts and managing clinical priorities
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Previous experience in long-term care or rehab settings preferred

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA program and current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident care basics
• Familiarity with infection control practices and resident safety protocols
• Basic charting and documentation skills; ability to learn EHR systems
• Good observation skills to notice changes in resident condition
• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
• Teamwork and clear communication with nurses and allied staff
• Respectful, patient-centered approach to care
• Safe body mechanics and transfer assistance techniques
