Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care under supervision, including assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in patient condition promptly
• Assist nursing staff with safe patient transfers and positioning
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and interventions
• Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team to promote comfort and dignity
• Participate in bedside teamwork to ensure smooth handoffs and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — state certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility policy
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening per facility requirements
• Comfortable working 12+ hour night shifts and handling physically demanding tasks
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and active CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing care principles and infection control
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong observation skills
• Teamwork, time management, and ability to follow care plans
