Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning while following care plans
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to the nursing team
• Support meal assistance and safe feeding practices, honoring dietary needs and preferences
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and adhere to infection control standards
• Document resident observations and communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary team
• Build rapport with residents and families, offering dignity, respect, and encouragement

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort working 12-hour day shifts and providing hands-on patient care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a caregiving team
• Previous experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing helpful but not required

Education

• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
• Knowledge of safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics
• Ability to accurately take and record vital signs and patient observations
• Familiarity with charting/documentation and following care plans
• Understanding of infection control practices and patient safety principles
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
