Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to elderly residents, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor resident comfort and safety during the night shift and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Support mealtime and feeding needs, respecting individual dietary requirements and preferences
• Document care activities clearly and accurately in resident charts and shift reports
• Assist with safe transfers and use of assistive devices while maintaining dignity and independence for residents
• Collaborate with the care team to follow care plans and contribute to positive resident outcomes

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification or equivalent training (Geriatric Nursing Assistant)
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Must pass background check and required health screenings (e.g., TB, immunizations)
• Demonstrated experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work overnight shifts as scheduled
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved GNA training program or state-recognized certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
• Basic clinical observation skills and the ability to report changes
• Familiarity with infection control and safe handling procedures
• Good documentation and charting habits
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
