Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to older adults as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility)
• Take and record vital signs and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and maintain clear, professional records
• Support a safe, clean environment and follow infection control procedures
• Collaborate with nurses and the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Respect resident dignity and promote independence while ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Valid GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification in the state of Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and age-related needs
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident hygiene
• Comfortable taking vitals and observing/reporting clinical changes
• Familiarity with basic documentation and following care plans
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well on a care team
