Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in patient condition promptly
• Support mobility and transfers safely, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the patient record
• Follow infection control policies and promote a clean, safe environment
• Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, patients and families to support care plans
• Assist with meal service, feeding, and nutrition needs while respecting patient preferences
• Contribute to a positive, recovery-focused atmosphere on the unit

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential (meets state requirements)
• Previous experience in a rehab or long-term care setting is a plus but not always required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered mindset

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant duties and patient care techniques
• Ability to take and record accurate vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively
• Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
