Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to geriatric residents
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns
• Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Support a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Engage residents with dignity, patience, and positive interaction

Qualifications

• GNA certification or state-equivalent (required)
• Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans, safety protocols, and documentation standards
• Current immunizations and any facility-required health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and basic resident needs
• Skilled in safe resident handling and basic mobility assistance
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Good time management, observation, and documentation skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and ability to work as part of a team
