Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and safe positioning
• Monitor and accurately document vital signs and patient observations
• Support the nursing team with bathing, feeding, and toileting needs
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
• Communicate clearly with nurses, patients, and families to ensure continuity of care
• Report changes in patient condition promptly and participate in care planning

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (New Mexico) required
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and adaptable to per-diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care, rehab, or similar setting a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs (activities of daily living) and basic patient care
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with transfer and lifting techniques for patient safety
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
