Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide safe and compassionate patient transfers and mobility assistance
• Monitor and document vital signs and report any changes promptly
• Support nursing staff with specimen collection, feeding, and restorative care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families, and the care team
• Contribute to individualized care plans and help implement assigned tasks
• Respond calmly and professionally in urgent situations, escalating when needed

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in New Mexico
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working night shifts and supporting a rehab/long-term care population
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a resident-centered approach
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to follow care plans and facility protocols
• Previous experience in rehabilitation or long-term care is preferred but not required

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and active CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
• Knowledge of basic infection prevention and safety procedures
• Ability to accurately document care and observe clinical changes
• Teamwork mindset and effective communication with multidisciplinary staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
