Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents and support their daily needs
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to clinical staff
• Accurately document care provided and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Help create a safe, comfortable environment that supports resident dignity and independence
• Participate in team huddles and contribute to person-centered care planning

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification required
• Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations or TB screening per facility requirements
• Reliable transportation for per diem shifts
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to elder care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience assisting older adults with activities of daily living
• Comfortable with resident transfers and safe lifting techniques
• Basic vital signs monitoring and reporting
• Familiarity with documentation practices and following care plans
• Knowledge of infection control and resident safety procedures
• Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, and support staff
