Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility support
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
• Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents receive their meals safely
• Promote a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents and families

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Class: GNA) — required
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Ability to work overnight shifts and respond to resident needs during NOC
• Pass background check and meet facility health/immunization requirements
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered attitude
• Basic CPR/First Aid preferred or willingness to obtain

Education

• GNA certification (required)
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and elder-centered approaches
• Comfort with assisting residents with ADLs and mobility support
• Good observational skills to notice changes in condition
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Teamwork and the ability to collaborate with nursing staff
• Infection control and safe patient handling awareness
