Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers and ambulation while following proper body mechanics
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
• Help create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident independence
• Participate in team huddles and communicate effectively with colleagues and families

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or equivalent
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care with compassion
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively on a care team

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care for older adults
• Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
• Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and reporting
• Dependable time management and documentation skills
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience for geriatric populations
