Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility support, and fall prevention
• Document care and observations clearly and accurately in patient charts
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support care plans
• Deliver respectful, person-centered care that preserves dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Valid CNA certification or ability to obtain New Mexico state certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable with overnight 12-hour shifts and hands-on resident care
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-focused attitude
• Previous long-term care or rehabilitation experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Familiarity with basic patient safety and infection control practices
• Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
• Good documentation habits and attention to detail
• Team player with effective communication and time management
• Empathy, patience, and ability to work in a fast-paced care setting
