Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor resident condition and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Assist with safe transfers, ambulation, and mobility support to prevent falls
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete assigned charting tasks
• Support infection control practices, including proper PPE use and hygiene
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure each resident's comfort and dignity
• Participate in shift handoffs to deliver seamless, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required)
• Active CNA authorization or ability to obtain/state-specific registration in New Mexico
• Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and basic patient care
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical teams
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in resident bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting assistance
• Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques and fall prevention
• Understanding of infection prevention and standard precautions
• Ability to observe and report changes in patient condition accurately
• Comfortable working night shifts and adapting to a per-diem schedule
