Location: Baltimore, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (varies), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, including bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
Observe residents’ conditions and communicate changes promptly to nursing staff
Assist with safe transfers and ambulation, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Support mealtime assistance and monitor dietary needs as instructed
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and resident interactions
Help create a calm, respectful environment that promotes resident dignity and independence

Qualifications

Current GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
Valid state-required certifications and ability to meet facility credentialing
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
Ability to pass background and health screenings per facility policy
Reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Basic resident care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
Understanding of dementia-related behaviors and compassionate approaches
Clear verbal and written communication for reporting and documentation
Infection control practices and residents’ safety awareness
Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with nursing staff
