Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on med-surg and telemetry units, monitoring vital signs and cardiac rhythms
• Administer medications safely and accurately per facility policies and scope of practice
• Assess patients and report significant changes to the interdisciplinary team in a timely manner
• Use telemetry equipment to identify arrhythmias and escalate concerns appropriately
• Document care clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians and other team members to develop and execute patient care plans
• Support patient and family education to promote recovery and safe transitions

Qualifications

• Active LPN/LVN license valid in Louisiana or eligible for state licensure
• Minimum 1 year of recent LPN/LVN clinical experience, preferably in med-surg or telemetry
• Current BLS certification from an accredited provider
• Strong telemetry monitoring experience and comfort with cardiac rhythm recognition
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical/Vocational Nursing program or equivalent

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and monitoring
• Med-surgical nursing fundamentals including assessments and medication administration
• Patient safety practices and escalation of care
• Electronic health record documentation
• Time management and prioritization during 12-hour shifts
• Team communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
