Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional abilities and craft individualized treatment plans that target meaningful daily activities
• Implement therapeutic interventions to improve independence with ADLs and instrumental ADLs
• Collaborate with PTs, SLPs, nursing, and social work to coordinate holistic, patient-centered care
• Document progress clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record to support continuity of care
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies, adaptive equipment, and safety to support successful discharge
• Adjust interventions based on ongoing assessment and team input to maximize patient outcomes
• Contribute to a positive clinical culture by mentoring colleagues and participating in team meetings

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapist license in Massachusetts (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Active CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in adult rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or outpatient settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (MOT or OTD) from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL assessment and adaptive equipment recommendations
• Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and functional/task-oriented treatment
• Proficient with electronic health records and timely documentation
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time efficiently
• Comfort working in fast-paced rehab and transitional care environments
