Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED
- Quickly assess, triage and prioritize patients to ensure timely, appropriate treatment
- Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including IV therapy and medication administration
- Collaborate closely with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
- Document clinical findings, treatments and patient responses accurately and promptly
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and follow-up care with compassion
- Maintain a safe, organized workspace and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Tennessee or a valid compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills in urgent care settings
- Ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative team member
- Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred where available
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of emergency triage and stabilization principles
- Proficiency in IV starts, medication administration and emergency procedures
- Skilled in patient assessment, critical care monitoring and rapid documentation
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and unit-specific workflows
- Excellent communication, teamwork and de-escalation skills in high-stress situations
- Ability to prioritize multiple patients while maintaining attention to detail
