Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night shift); schedule includes every-other-weekend (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)

Candidate Pay Rate: $51 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to cardiac and progressive care patients, monitoring rhythms and responding to changes
- Interpret EKGs and manage telemetry alarms with sound clinical judgment
- Administer and titrate IV drips safely (Heparin, Diltiazem/Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Amiodarone) according to protocols
- Perform unit procedures including chest tube management and wound VAC care
- Document thoroughly each shift in Meditech-HCA and ensure rhythm strips are filed per unit guidelines
- Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, PCTs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely patient care
- Engage in bedside hourly rounding and patient experience practices to keep patients safe and informed
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience, with telemetry or progressive care experience highly preferred
- Strong cardiac knowledge and comfort with EKG interpretation
- Experience with Meditech-HCA documentation, Philips telemetry systems, and Pyxis ES medication dispensing
- Skills in IV drip management, chest tube and wound VAC care, and bedside patient rounding
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- EKG acquisition and interpretation
- Medication titration for critical drips and vasoactive agents
- Chest tube management and wound VAC maintenance
- Familiarity with Meditech-HCA, Philips Telemetry, Pyxis ES, and WOW med drawers
- Ability to float to Med/Surg, Ortho, and PCU as needed
- Strong patient communication, bedside rounding, and safety-first mindset
