Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents and patients—administer medications, monitor vital signs, and follow care plans
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes in condition to the care team
- Accurately document patient care in the chart and maintain clear, timely clinical records
- Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and providers to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
- Support patient comfort and dignity through respectful, attentive bedside care
- Follow infection control standards and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
- Participate in shift handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active LPN or RN license (eligible to practice in Maine)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain prior to start
- Comfortable working an evening/PM shift (1:45 PM - 10:15 PM)
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare setting
- Willingness to complete facility onboarding and any required screenings prior to start
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and monitoring skills
- Medication administration and documentation accuracy
- Clear communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
- Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
- Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety protocols
- Good charting skills and ability to learn facility electronic medical records
