Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff and physicians during complex endoscopy procedures (polypectomy, biopsies, ERCP, dilations) to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care
• Disinfect, process and reprocess endoscopic equipment following strict infection control protocols
• Troubleshoot endoscopy equipment and collaborate with biomedical/engineering when needed to keep procedures on schedule
• Set up procedure rooms with necessary supplies and equipment so the team can focus on patients
• Transport patients safely to and from procedure areas and assist with ambulation and recovery as directed
• Apply and verify monitoring devices (EKG, BP cuff, pulse oximetry) prior to cases to support patient safety
• Restock rooms and maintain supply organization to enable smooth procedural flow
• Support patient comfort and dignity—help them dress and prepare as guided by nursing staff

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Minimum 2 years of endoscopy experience with advanced case experience required
• Registered with Colorado DORA as a CST (CO DORA CST Registration required)
• Current BLS through the American Heart Association (required)
• IAHCSMM Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) strongly preferred
• SGNA Associates or Advanced Associates Program preferred
• Current flu vaccination required
• Ability to provide resume, copy of CO DORA CST registration, AHA BLS card, and flu vaccine documentation with submission

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Experienced in endoscope reprocessing and infection control practices
• Proficient in setting up procedure rooms and managing supplies
• Skilled in assisting complex GI procedures including polypectomy, ERCP, biopsies and dilations
• Comfortable applying and troubleshooting patient monitoring equipment (EKG, BP cuff, pulse oximetry)
• Strong equipment troubleshooting skills and familiarity with endoscopy instrumentation
• Patient-focused communication and safe patient transport techniques
• Ability to work calmly in high-acuity procedural settings and support the clinical team
