Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for referrals and patients, providing professional, compassionate communication
- Attend patient consultations and perform initial examinations and assessments
- Provide recommendations to referring physicians, patients, and families under the guidance of the interventional radiologist
- Perform daily rounds and clearly communicate patient progress to the medical team and radiologist
- Support and participate in interventional procedures including cardiac catheterization, EP ablations, peripheral and cerebral angiograms, TEE, and cardioversions
- Provide safe moderate sedation management and monitor patients through recovery
- Document patient care and procedure details accurately in the Cerner EMR
- Promote infection prevention, patient education, and smooth transitions of care
Qualifications
- Active Illinois nursing license (agency IL license copy required for submission)
- Minimum 2 years current experience in cardiac cath and interventional radiology (required)
- Experience providing moderate sedation (required)
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) current and active at time of submission
- COVID-19 and influenza vaccination required; declinations will not be approved
- Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Prior Cerner EMR experience highly preferred
- Current certifications, resume, skills checklist (within 1 year), and two supervisory references required for profile
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient assessment and consultation with strong clinical judgment
- Performing and supporting patient rounds and continuous monitoring
- Hands-on experience with interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures
- Comfort with EP ablation, peripheral and cerebral angiography, TEE, and cardioversion workflows
- Moderate sedation administration and patient recovery management
- Proficient documentation in Cerner EMR
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Adherence to safety protocols and infection control practices
