Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert lactation assessment, treatment, and consultation for inpatient and outpatient patients
- Develop and communicate interdisciplinary plans of care for patients with advanced lactation needs
- Deliver prenatal and postpartum lactation education and one-on-one consultations
- Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to support breastfeeding goals
- Document care thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record (Meditech Expanse preferred)
- Lead patient education efforts that empower families and improve breastfeeding outcomes
- Serve as a clinical resource and provide leadership oversight of lactation practices
- Maintain required certifications and ensure timely submission of required documents during onboarding
Qualifications
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) — required (1+ year as IBCLC)
- Minimum of 2500 hours of experience as a breastfeeding consultant — required
- Current Massachusetts license in an acceptable discipline: RN, OT, PT, SLP, or Pharmacist
- Active American Heart Association BLS (in hand at profile upload)
- Experience with inpatient lactation programs and outpatient prenatal/postpartum education
- Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
- Must have own vehicle for this assignment
- Required documentation at upload: board certification, supervisory signed reference within past 2 years, work history, and skills checklist
Education
- Current professional license as RN, OT, PT, SLP, or Pharmacist (Massachusetts)
- IBCLC board certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Lactation assessment and management best practices
- Breastfeeding consultation techniques and counseling
- Inpatient lactation program workflows and patient triage
- Outpatient lactation education, teaching, and follow-up
- Creating and communicating interdisciplinary plans of care
- Patient education and family-centered coaching
- Electronic charting (Meditech Expanse experience preferred)
- Strong communication, clinical documentation, and teamwork skills
