Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, mobility, toileting)
- Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to the nursing team promptly
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure comfort during meal service
- Document care activities accurately and timely in the resident chart
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
- Collaborate with fellow caregivers and licensed staff to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification — show us your credentials
- Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate approach
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of a certified GNA program required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and mobility support
- Basic infection control and safety practices
- Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
