Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Silver Spring, MD
Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (night shift; days not specified)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Support residents with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility needs
- Monitor residents' condition and report changes to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and timely to maintain continuity and safety
- Assist with safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues to deliver person-centered care
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or completion of a state-approved GNA program
- State certification or eligibility to be certified in Maryland
- Comfortable working night shifts (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Clear background check and any required state/state registry checks
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-centered approach
- Prior experience in geriatric or long-term care preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a state-approved GNA training program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic geriatric care
- Familiarity with infection control and safe hygiene practices
- Ability to document care clearly and follow care plans
- Basic mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques
- Good observation skills and ability to escalate clinical changes appropriately
- Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills
