Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, dignified care to residents by assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Assist residents with mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and lift techniques
• Support mealtime and feeding assistance, monitoring intake and reporting changes
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ condition to nursing staff promptly
• Maintain clean, safe resident environments and follow infection control procedures
• Document care and resident interactions accurately and timely in the facility charting system
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families, fostering comfort and reassurance

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — you’ll be the hands-on caregiver residents rely on
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and facility screening requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a team-player attitude
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatrics is a plus but enthusiastic newcomers are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Comfort with documentation and following care plans
• Basic infection control and hand hygiene practices
• Good communication skills with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Observation skills to notice and report changes in condition
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
