Location: Bowie, MD
Shift Type: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, day shift (specific days of week to be confirmed)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to reduce fall risk and promote independence
- Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to nursing staff in a timely manner
- Support meal service, assist with feeding when needed, and document intake per facility protocol
- Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance comfort, dignity, and quality of life
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
Education
- GNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant program required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Basic clinical skills including vital signs and assistance with activities of daily living
- Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and fall-prevention techniques
- Comfortable with documentation/charting and following care plans
- Team player who communicates clearly with nurses, therapists, residents, and families
