Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support to reduce fall risk and promote independence
• Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to nursing staff in a timely manner
• Support meal service, assist with feeding when needed, and document intake per facility protocol
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to enhance comfort, dignity, and quality of life
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety procedures

Qualifications

• Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• GNA certification or completion of an accredited nursing assistant program required
• High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Basic clinical skills including vital signs and assistance with activities of daily living
• Familiarity with infection control, safety protocols, and fall-prevention techniques
• Comfortable with documentation/charting and following care plans
• Team player who communicates clearly with nurses, therapists, residents, and families
