Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, patient-centered nursing care across Progressive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to dysrhythmias and changes in patient condition
- Deliver ACLS and BLS interventions as needed and maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Assess patients across the lifespan from newborn to geriatric; prioritize and manage care effectively
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team while functioning independently in a small, rural facility
- Maintain required skills checklists and competency documentation current to one year
- Communicate clearly with leadership regarding scheduling requests at time of submission to avoid offer rescindment
Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire RN license in-hand at submission or Compact RN license
- New Hampshire Temporary Health Care Service Agency License/Registration Certificate required up front for submission
- Minimum 3+ years combined experience in PCU, Medical-Surgical and Telemetry (required)
- Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications
- Basic dysrhythmia competency/test documented in profile (required)
- One supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years
- Own reliable vehicle for assignment and permanent address included in profile
- Previous travel experience and rural/small facility experience highly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring expertise
- Dysrhythmia recognition and response
- Progressive Care Unit and Medical-Surgical clinical skills
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work independently
- Comfort managing varied acuity with flexible nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 5:1; 3:1 or 4:1 for higher-acuity PCU patients)
- Effective documentation and timely submission of required credentials and skills checklists
- Adaptability to a small, community hospital environment
